Stortech D057-650 – Analogue Camera Specification
The D057-650-S model comes with a CCD sensor which creates the ability to transport charge across the chip without any distortion. CCD will create high-quality, low-noise images where CMOS is traditionally susceptible to noise.
Primarily a transport camera, this dome can also be flush mounted and is IP67 weatherproof which means this camera can be dropped into a body of water up to a meter deep for half an hour making the D057 both an indoor and outdoor camera option.
- All D057 models come with built-in IR LEDs which make them perfect for low light environments.
This model uses 850nm (nanometers) IR wavelengths which are around 30-40% more effective at distance than the 940nm D057-650-COV-S. The 850nm model will illuminate a greater distance however it will produce a faint red glow when looking directly at a camera or source. The 940nm (also known as Covert IR) is completely invisible and can be used in situations that are required to be more covert.
IR Nanometers (nm)
IR wavelengths are measured in nanometers (nm) which are used to specify the wavelength of electromagnetic radiation near the visible part of the light spectrum, these wavelengths can go up to a maximum of 1050nm.
850nm (Nanometers)
850nm will provide night vision recording over 5M away whilst still retaining image quality with most having a performance increase of over 40% compared with 940nm. The 850nm wavelength will produce a slight red glow when looking at the camera which can be mistaken for a signal or brake light and therefore not suitable for covert operations or vehicle cameras.
IP Rating – What is IP67?
IP or Ingress Protection ratings are international standard ratings to define the sealing effectiveness of electrical enclosures against dirt, moisture and foreign bodies. The first number that follows IP has a specific meaning which indicates the level of protection the equipment has to foreign bodies excluding water. The second number will identify the level of protection the product has to moisture (submersion, drips, sprays etc).
(6) Totally dust-tight. Full protection against dust and other particulates, including a vacuum seal, tested against continuous airflow.
(7) Protection against full immersion for up to 30 minutes at depths of 3 feet.
Backlight Compensation (BLC)
Backlight Compensation (BLC) technology works by reducing the dynamic range of the entire image while retaining the overall contrast. By compensating for unbalanced in a scene, the detail is restored throughout the field of view so as to provide better visibility to identify an object of interest.
True Day/Night (TDN)
True Day/Night feature can be used for precise colour reproduction. With a built-in dual filter system, known as the Infrared Cut filter Removal (ICR) mechanism, the infrared cut filter can be used at day time, or in bright lighting conditions, to provide enhanced image in full-colour. At night time, or in harsh lighting conditions, it will be removed for greater light sensitivity in monochrome mode.

E11 Certification Vehicle Approval
The E11 Mark is the British specific Mark that covers equipment/vehicles supplied to the automotive industry. This includes commercial vehicles, construction machinery and general vehicle use and basically means the unit has been approved by ECU compliance and quality control regulations. ()
